Transcad is a solely Czech company. Founded in 1993
as an English language translation agency, the company developed its
activity in computer science, machinery/engineering, GIS, and electronics.
However, since 1995 the company's focus has further developed and extended.
The first jobs were translations of Czech-localized CAD
software manuals (note former name of the company - "TransCAD").
The partners included Democentrum SoftCAD, Autodesk, TGN, Cadis, CADStudio,
Xanadu, Siemens PLM, Sitewell and VariCAD). The software has based on the AutoCAD platform,
including various applications (e.g. for engineering, electronics,
architecture and GIS, CAE, CAM, ERP, CIM, and FM). Transcad has
contributed to localization projects resulting in both Czech and English
language versions.
Later, Transcad has become active in technical book
translations. The publications included those dealing with new
technologies, MS Windows operating systems, MS Office applications, PC
hardware, programming/internet languages and CorelDRAW family products.
The company executives have also written several publications about MS
Windows 95 operating system, MS Office applications, and Corel Corporation
products.
In today's competitive world, users need to get familiar
wirh any kind of software tool within the shortest possible period of
time.
Expetrs are required who perform "documentaristic" tasks. They
analyze the software and present the user with complete documentation
(user's guide, reference guide, and so on). Transcad can mine long term
authoring experience.
Transcad provides web page translations, as well. No doubt that English has become a universal Internet communication language.
Therefore, many companies experiencing the Word Wide Web require not just
a Czech presentation, but English one, too. Transcad has built English web
pages of both amateur and professional subjects (e.g. the African Odyssey
project of Czech Radio 2).

localizations of the following software products: NX, Solid Edge,
Teamcenter, AutoCAD, Inventor, Autodesk Map, Autodesk Revit, Archicad, Autodesk Architectural
Desktop, Mechanical Desktop, SolidCAM, Cimatron E, Pilot Desktop, Karat IS
a Acronis True Image, Acronis Disk Director, and Autodesk Vault.
